Super Group reports record half-year revenue

The group has raised its full-year guidance while also announcing a sponsorship deal between Betway and Manchester United.

US.- The NYSE-listed gambling operator Super Group has reported record second-quarter results, driven by strong performance by its Betway brand in the run-up to the World Cup. The company posted an H1 profit of $208m, up from $56m in the same period last year. Adjusted EBITDA climbed from $268m to $356m.

Growth was evident across all regions, though Africa again stood out as the group’s strongest geo, reflecting the group’s strategic prioritisation of the continent. Sportsbook revenue in Africa rose from $138m to $186m, while igaming revenue climbed from $290m to $391m.

North America remains the group’s second-largest contributor, with $395m in H1 revenue, now largely from Canada following last year’s withdrawal from the US market. However, Q2 revenue dipped slightly from $204m to $200m.

CEO Neal Menashe confirmed that the company expects to transition all Alberta operations to the province’s new regulated online gambling market by the October deadline. Alberta’s framework required operators previously active in the grey market to end unregulated operations by the regulated market launch on July 13. However, Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis allowed eligible operators to request extensions of up to three months until October 13.

Menashe said the group is prioritising regulatory readiness and technology before migrating customers. The company plans to operate five brands: Betway Sportsbook and Casino, Jackpot City, Royal Vegas, Ruby Fortune and Spin. “For us, it’s making sure the UX is right and focusing on our high-value customers, the VIP cohorts, to ensure retention,” he said.

Meanwhile, Europe showed steady gains, with H1 revenue up from $204m to $245m. The Rest of World added $67m to the revenue total of $1.3bn. Total Q2 revenue was up 18 per cent year-on-year to $684m.

“The second quarter generated record performance across Super Group, marking all-time highs in Revenue, Adjusted EBITDA, deposits and wagering,” Menashe said. “While we maximised the commercial boost from the FIFA World Cup, these results once again demonstrate the core strength of our casino-led, diversified business model, disciplined execution, and highly durable customer base.”

Following its strong first-half performance, Super Group has raised its full-year guidance, increasing revenue expectations from $2.55bn to $2.6bn and adjusted EBITDA from $680m to $710m.

A new deal with Manchester United will see Betway’s branding appear on the club’s training kits, in line with the new Premier League ban on front-of-shirt betting sponsorships. The brand has been named the club’s Official Principal Partner and Exclusive Global Betting Partner in a multi-year deal beginning with the 2026/27 season.

Betway will also receive matchday exposure at Old Trafford and the Progress with Unity Stadium and supporters will also have access to exclusive competitions. The agreement represents Betway’s biggest sponsorship investment to date, joining a sports portfolio that also includes Formula 1, international rugby union, cricket, basketball and tennis as well as football.

Menashe described the agreement as a “landmark partnership” that will support Betway’s “global presence and growth ambitions.”

“Manchester United’s global reach, particularly with their massive fanbase across Africa, aligns perfectly with our key markets,” he added.
